Horror Short Stories Book: Pathways Into Darkness, written by Leonard Rich

     People try to figure out what life is all about or try to find the answer to life. So, they ask, "What is the purpose of our life?" or "Why am I here?" These are just a few of the questions in the understanding of life. Many people had claimed they know the answers, but it is a self-learning experience that a person must understand on their own. The answer to life is different with all people and no answer is right or wrong. So, people must begin their journey in life down the paths of life and darkness.

     There are many paths a person can take, good or bad, it is up to taking chances. A person has a choice, but the rules of the path are never clear. People must begin their journey down the paths of the unknown. A person must see the paths as if their life depends on them, for the paths are life, are choices, which takes a person in multitude of directions.

     Along these paths there are many turns, different directions, and dead ends. The turns in life can take a person away from trouble or close to trouble. The different paths are choices a person can make to go in a different direction or find a path that circles around to start over again. Dead end is when a person thinks they are on the path to progress ends up stopping, there is a choice that needs to be made. When there are no more paths to walk or follow, they can't go no further and must figure out where they can go from there.

      These paths can intersect with other paths and form a network of choices, which can lead to good fortune or led to disaster. Light and darkness will be awaiting that person once the reach the end of that path. If light, then there are intersections to take to get away from the darkness.

      Unfortunately, most of the pathways are filled with darkness, the choice then is to how to survive and defeat what sinister fate awaits those who try to make the right choices. Those choice seem reasonable and right but have a shadow link to a darkness unseen to those wanting to make the right choices. The choice could be a shortcut, wanting peace, curiosity, or even wanting to get away from a path that is boring and needs excitement, no matter what those choices are, be aware of the darkness.

      Darkness lurks in the shadows, the corner of an eye, in place a person would never expect, a choice that will take your life. So, be warned, a pathway is never clear, just the beginning of the story that can lead to the light and lead into darkness.

      Here are eight stories of simple people wanting to see the light of their choices in hoping for a better end, but darkness is always lurking down those pathways. No one knows what’s awaits them at the end of such path, but in the end, its all about free will and making the right choice to lead a person away from the darkness.
